How to fall in love with your Wi-Fi® this Valentine’s Day

Your significant other isn’t the only thing that deserves attention this Valentine’s Day.

Your Wi-Fi® isSocial Media Vday now a vital element of your home life. Show it some TLC, and it’ll love you back by not ruining your night in front of a romcom.

These three tips will give you Wi-Fi to make Cupid proud.

See other people – You don’t have to be faithful to your gateway if you can get better performance from someone else. Not all gateways are created equal. You can stay with your current service provider but, investigate in a new gateway that will boost the service you’re currently receiving. Look for options with more download and upload channels to boost speeds.

Choose a better position – Moving things to the bedroom? Not so fast! If your gateway is all the way downstairs, you might not get the streaming quality you expect. Make sure your gateway is in the heart of your home to get the best coverage throughout, even in the bedroom.

Set the mood – When you achieve full coverage in every room of your house, you’ll have more options to connect more devices, apps and services. For example, adding connected lighting to your home will make use of your enhanced broadband. And by using voice commands, you’ll be able to get the lighting just right without breaking the mood by fiddling with buttons and menus.

It’s Valentine’s Day after all, so why not become more affectionate with better broadband and entertainment without the flaws?

Love, ARRIS.

Race preview: Dividing and conquering in the Great Lakes

This weekend, Carl Edwards returns to the Irish Hills of Michigan for the Pure Michigan 400, CqrqJCyWgAACYeIwhile Daniel Suárez heads to Elkhard Lake in Wisconsin to close out the Road Course portion of the XFINITY Series.

Daniel will run on Saturday, taking the #19 ARRIS Toyota Camry through its paces on the legendary 4-mile, 14-turn circuit at Road America. The road course, which comprises both left and right turns, promises to offer an exciting start to the weekend.

On Sunday, Carl Edwards will take the wheel of his #19 ARRIS Toyota Camry—wearing its new SURFboard® wrap featuring NewEgg—for 200 laps of Michigan International’s 2-mile speedway. He’ll be looking for a victory to add to his nine top-5 finishes and two wins at the track.

Here’s a preview of this weekend’s ARRIS Racing lineup:

NASCAR XFINITY Series – Road America Road Course

  • Daniel Suárez in the #19 ARRIS Toyota Camry
  • Live TV coverage: Saturday, August 27th at 3:00 p.m. Eastern on NBCSN, Sirius XM Channel 90, and MRN Radio

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series – Pure Michigan 400

  • Carl Edwards in the #19 ARRIS Toyota Camry
  • Live TV coverage: Sunday, August 28th at 2:00 p.m. Eastern on NBCSN, Sirius XM Channel 90, and MRN Radio

Carl Edwards: ”I am really looking forward to the Michigan race.  The lower down force package should provide some great racing there, especially the second time around, there’s a little more rubber on the track, and possibly some higher temperatures to widen out the groove.  We’ve been having a lot of fun. We’ve been fast, been qualifying well and racing well.  Michigan is a place that really tests every part of your team. You have to have great engines, which we do from TRD. You have to have great cars and bodies, which we do. The pit crew has to be on their game. My guys have been doing great lately. You have to make good calls the whole day.  Dave Rogers and I will go there and just keep doing what we’ve been doing and hopefully we get ARRIS a win.  I have a couple wins in the cup car and Xfinity series.  It’s always been a really cool place to go.  There is a lot of pride on the line in Michigan because it’s the domestic manufacturers’ backyard.  If you can win there, you know you’ve done a good job. I would be really proud to put Toyota in victory lane.”

Daniel Suárez: “We’ve had a tough couple of races the past two weeks, so I’m really looking forward to getting back on the track this weekend and behind the wheel of my ARRIS Camry. Road America is one of the best tracks not only in NASCAR, but in the country, so I’m really excited and looking forward to the weekend.  We’ve had some really good meetings this week and I think Scott and the team have a great game plan as we moved forward. We will work hard on Friday to find the right set up not only for the race on Saturday, but also qualifying on Friday evening as track position will be really important.”

Good luck, Carl and Daniel!

Race Preview: Tackling the “Tricky Triangle”

We’re at Pocono Raceway this weekend in Pennsylvania for two days of spirited racing around 20160603_141817_resizedthe famously tight corners of the 2.5-mile tri-oval. Carl Edwards returns to add a third to his two prior wins at the track, while this visit will mark Daniel Suarez’s first start at Pocono.

Daniel will start things off in the #19 Toyota Camry in Saturday’s inaugural Pocono Green 250. ARRIS Racing will host some lucky employees that day during the XFINITY series. Then on Sunday, Carl will be rocking the new SURFboard paint scheme behind the wheel of the #19 Toyota Camry in the Sprint Cup’s Axalta “We Paint Winners” 400.

Here’s a preview of this weekend’s ARRIS Racing lineup:

NASCAR XFINITY Series – Pocono Green 250

  • Daniel Suarez in the #19 ARRIS Toyota Camry
  • Live TV coverage: Saturday, June 3rd at 1:00 p.m. Eastern on FOX, Sirius XM Channel 90, and MRN Radio

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series – Axalta “We Paint Winners” 400

  • Carl Edwards in the #19 ARRIS Toyota Camry
  • Live TV coverage: Sunday, June 4th at 1:00 p.m. Eastern on FOX Sports 1, Sirius XM Channel 90, and MRN Radio

Carl Edwards: “Pocono is obviously a unique racetrack.  It’s unlike any other track we go to.  It’s a real tough track to get right. I’ve had some success there with a couple wins.  I enjoy racing there.  It’s as close to a road course as an oval can get.  It has three distinct corners, has a long straightaways and every part of the team comes into play.  You got to have a great engine, you got to have a really good setup and you got to be able to adjust.  You have to drive well and restarts are important.  When you do well there it means something, because you have to do everything right.  Hopefully we can go there and get our third win of the season.  We have ARRIS on board and we would like to get them to victory lane.  After last week we had a strong run and I had some speeding penalties, so I need to keep the racing on the race track.”

Daniel Suarez: ”I’m looking forward to the weekend and making my first start at Pocono in the ARRIS Camry. I’ve done some work in the Toyota Simulator the last few weeks to learn as much as possible, and Scott (Graves) and I have had some good meetings and I think we have a good game plan going into the weekend. Toyota Racing has been on a hot streak as of late, and I would like nothing more than to get my first win and continue their winning streak this weekend at Pocono.”

Unboxing the New SURFboard® System with RipCurrent™ G.hn Technology

Today, we’re taking the wrapping paper off of our new family of SURFboard® RipCurrent™-enabled devices to give you a peek at the Future of Wi-Fi®.

Our engineers rethought the entire concept of home networking to bring you the fastest, most reliable connection, anywhere in your home—the Wi-Fi that you’ve always wanted. Our RipCurrent-enabled portfolio uses existing electrical lines wiring, smart software, and next-generation G.hn technology to dramatically improve your wireless router’s performance, completely eliminate dead zones, and put bandwidth hogs in their place.

And we’ve hidden all of this advanced technology under bright, clean curves, making every RipCurrent-enabled device an easy fit for today’s modern décor—no more antennas or black boxes to clutter your home.

Ready to rip? Let’s go!

Introducing the Wi-Fi® You’ve Always Wanted

In the future, dead zones are extinct. Movies don’t buffer. And your dog just set up your Wi-Fi® network Picture1with an app, in under five minutes.

Well, guess what. The Future of Wi-Fi is here (depending on your dog). It’s called SURFboard® with RipCurrent™ G.hn technology. And it doesn’t just work; it works better than anything else you’ve ever tried.

ARRIS SURFboard with RipCurrent G.hn technology is a new family of routers and extenders from future-loving geniuses who brought you digital TV and the first cable modem gateway. We rethought the entire concept of traditional home networking to solve all the little frustrating things that have plagued your Internet experience for years.

The SURFboard RipCurrent-enabled family transforms Wi-Fi in a unique way: with wires. Our system uses Gigabit home networking technology called G.hn to build a smarter network using your home’s existing wiring to create new hotspots, feed high-bandwidth devices, and lighten the load on your wireless network. As a result, we’ve drastically improved wireless router performance, helped completely eliminate dead zones, and put bandwidth hogs in their place.

“The reality is that everyone’s home is different, making it hard for any one router to provide a fast connection in every corner of every house,” said Bob Swanson, our VP of Retail Sales. “RipCurrent G.hn technology is the solution.”

Our new SURFboard RipCurrent-enabled portfolio works with our ARRIS SURFboard Manager app for iOS and Android to help you set up your network faster than you can walk your dog. And it lets you tailor your Wi-Fi to your exact needs. Ever better: our system will grow with you as those needs change, letting you add more range and bandwidth with additional extenders, so that the future of Wi-Fi stays in your home, for years to come.
